I am a registered member of both the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy and the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, and a senior accredited member of the National Council of Psychotherapists. I have over twenty-five years experience of counselling, psychotherapy and hypnotherapy.
Trained initially in addiction counselling at Promis Recovery Centre in Kent, I subsequently worked for some years as a voluntary counsellor in Reading. Prompted by the observation that clients move spontaneously into trance-like states during counselling sessions, I studied for my diploma at the Psychotherapy and Hypnosis Training Association (PHTA) in London (1997). After qualifying, I gained full membership of the National Council of Psychotherapists (NCP) and the National Council for Hypnotherapy (NCH) and was entered onto the Hypnotherapy Register, being awarded Senior Clinician status with the NCH in 2002.
Meanwhile, an ever deepening interest in consciousness studies led me to the Centre for Transpersonal Psychology (CTP) where I took the Advanced Diploma in 2003 and was registered with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP). I now maintain my accreditation as a Direct Member of UKCP in the Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy College.
I worked for the Bridge Pastoral Foundation Psychotherapy and Counselling Diploma Course for two years, teaching, training and running process groups, but now focus on my private practices in Newbury and Devizes, and on writing.
