My initial training in addiction counselling, at Promis Recovery Centre in Kent, was followed by several years volunteering for a charitable counselling organisation in Reading.
The observation that clients move spontaneously into trance-like states during sessions prompted me to study at the Psychotherapy and Hypnosis Training Association in London, qualifying for membership of the National Council of Psychotherapists (now the National Council of Integrative Psychotherapists) and the National Council of Hypnotherapists and entry onto the Hypnotherapy Register. I was awarded senior clinician status with the NCH in 2002.
Meanwhile, an ever deepening interest in consciousness studies led me to the Centre for Transpersonal Psychology (CTP) where I took the Advanced Diploma in 2003 and was registered with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP). I now maintain my accreditation as a Direct Member of UKCP in the Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy College.
Latterly, I spent two years teaching, training and running process groups for the Bridge Pastoral Foundation's Psychotherapy and Counselling Course at Douai Abbey. My current focus is on my private practice, working in person in Thatcham and also online internationally.
